End of Year Post and New Cover Art

It's the end of another year and time for reflection. While the last year has not been productive for me writing wise due to illness, I have over the last couple of months started to write a lot more. I am working on multiple projects and have two new pieces of cover art to share.

Two very different stories, but I think variety is the spice of life. Neutral Shades is coming out sometime in Feb 2018. I Get What I Want is coming out in Jan 2018. I will post updates as I get them such as blurbs and buy links.

I wish each and everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday, Happy Hanukkah or great day if you don't celebrate. Thanks for all the support. See you all in 2018!

An Update

This is just a little update to let you all know what's been happening in my life and writing world.

Life: I have been ill a lot these days. I have fibromyalgia. There are days when all I do is stay in bed and sleep. Chronic pain sucks. My writing productivity has been down since those days my brain feels like it's in a fog.

Writing: I am happen to announce that I have signed for my first gay YA with Evernight Teen. It's a coming of age type story. I am proud of this one and hope it sells many copies. Look for it in February 2018! More details will come as I get them.

I am working on a few other things. Again updates will come as things happen. Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

Another Year Over

So 2015 is almost over and I am sad  to say that I won't be sorry to see this year end. It hasn't been a good one for me.

My health hasn't been good as some of you may know. First I have major back issues, I am diabetic and now on insulin which has been a struggle, and I am being investigated for other things since I suffer from chronic pain all over my body.

I have hardly worked during the last year and I don't have sick benefits either. I also suffer from depression which has worsened since all of this has taken place. Yup, 2015 has NOT been a good year.

On a up note I am thankful to have a truly wonderful husband who I absolutely love and adore. His support has been unbelievable. He is always there for me. There is also my family who have also been a great support.

Writing wise it has been an okay year. My output hasn't been that great, but I have been please with what I have had published. My sales have not been what I would like for them to have been, but that just a part of the business.

For the readers who do buy my stuff, I truly thanks you. I hope you get some joy and pleasure reading about my characters and their situations. It really does me a lot to me to know that people like reading what I write.

What's next? I hope to write more of course. I am also expanding to other genres besides erotic romance and mm and menage. I plan on trying my hand again at historicals and paranormal romance. And I am taking an active role in trying to improve my health.

I wish you all a great Christmas/Holiday Season and a wonderful New Year filled with joy!

What's New

Shameless Cat Pic!

What's new in my writing world? Not a whole lot really. I haven't been writing much. However, I am working on anthology sub for the end of the month and the next installment for my Opposites series with Siren Publishing. Other than that I'm just living life and enjoying the nice weather.

What's new with you?

This and That

Another year has passed by pretty darned quickly, and soon the holiday season will be here. I don't make resolutions for the coming year, but I have started my Christmas shopping.

I'm not one to do things last minute. And I have to admit that I do most of my shopping online. The selection is better than most stores around here, and the prices are often a heck of a lot cheaper. The hubs and I don't spend a lot on each other so that also makes things easier.

Once again this year I plan on giving a little extra to our local food-bank. It's a charity that I faithfully support since I've known people personally who have had to use it. It's my wish this upcoming season that more people do a little good in this world. Remember a little can go a long way even if you think what you can do is minuscule.

On the writing front it's been slow-going. I'm working on some non-romance. It isn't m/m either or remotely erotic. We shall see how that turns out, but the fact is that I have not been writing much period. The day job has been all consuming, and since it is the money maker at this time, I have to dedicate most of my time to it.

I hope all is good and well with everyone.

My First Year

It's been one year since I subbed my first story. Over the past year I have learned so much about many things both writing related and non. It's truly been a journey of sorts and I think I am better off for having the experiences that I have had thus far.

Being published had had it's ups and downs. Some of my works have sold much better than others. I have learned that in the e romance and erotica market some things sell better than others. I have also learned to be wary of certain publishers. It's been like a maze to navigate through all this information since it's tossed at you from every which way possible. Many of you know this and I'm sure have had your own experiences.

I am pleased with the ways things have gone in one year for me. I feel my name is out there and while I'm not one of the biggies selling tons of books, I am doing reasonably well. I hope to continue the way I'm going, but am expanding to write in other genres which are not romance or erotica oriented.

Where do I see myself in another year? I often ask myself this question. Ideally my dream is to write fulltime and be moderately successful. I will continue to work hard at it and see what comes of it. Afterall, I didn't think I'd be this far along one year ago.

Cheers

The Writing Game

I sent off my requested three chapters to Harlequin last night after spending ages tweaking them. To say the least when I pressed send I was relieved to have it done and over with.

Writing for me is a mixture of love and hate and often I find myself wanting to pull the hair out of my head, especially when it comes to passing edits back and forth.

While I love the creative part of writing, I can't say I love the whole process like some writers do.

So, as I sit here now with second round edits sent off for my latest contracted novella and a submission package send to Harlequin. I am a nervous as heck. Being a nervous person by nature I've come to expect this reaction. And when I want something bad, it makes things worse.

For romance, HQ is the ultimate dream. Let's hope that it becomes a reality. *fingers crossed*.

Would You?

Would you continue to write if you knew you would never get published?

This question was asked of me the other day and It made me think. I'm interested to know the opinions of others on this question.

I'm looking for three authors who write in three different genres. Romance, Horror/thriller, sci-fi/fantasy to participate in a multi author interview on my blog, Write Outside the Box. If interested, PM me.

Thanks~

Is this a sign of things to come?

A lot of writers are finding moderate success with self publishing, mainly e books through such venues as CreateSpace, LuLu and a couple others.

Recently on Absolutewrite(the best writers forum), low sales have been discussed in regards to e books with smaller e book publishers. And when I mean low, I mean low. One author openenly cited sixty-nine books in a year, which is rather bad in my opinion. This was with a press who while not at the top of the list, is also not at the bottom.

Novellas in particular can be a hard sell. But my question is, why not publish them on your own? Especially if sales are only reaching double digits in a lengthy period of time.

Now don't get me wrong, I understand that it's a heck of a lot of work. As you can imagine you are responsible for everything including the cover art, editing, formatting etc...

What are your thoughts? Opinion? I'm interested to know.
