On Christmas and the End of Another Year

Growing up, my family didn't go big with Christmas. We decorated, and had the usual turkey along with all the trimmings. But that was it except for visiting some of our extended family. I guess that tradition has continued on with me and my husband.

Above is our small tree in all its holiday splendour! Our apartment is a little on the small side. We don't have the room for a big one, so we make the best use out of our limited space. We will do Christmas dinner with the turkey. And of course, we'll probably end up eating too much, and complaining about it later.

I'm working throughout Christmas, but it's my year to work. I look forward to having it off again next year. Many people would dread working through the holidays, but in my line of work we never close for anything.

When this time of the year rolls around, I often stop and think about years gone by. Some memories are happy while others are not. It's a case of taking the good with the bad, and I always remind myself that I have a lot to be thankful for. There is so much pain in this world. My life isn't so bad. I have a job, a place to live with food, and I do have my family. My health is getting better, so really, what else does a person need?

When I look back on my writing career over the past year, I'm thankful for each word written. Some releases have sold extremely well. It still amazes me to think that there are readers out there buying my stories. I don't think that feeling will ever go away.

This coming year I plan to break out further with my writing. And while I will still write erotic romance, I'm planning to go back to my roots to pursue other genres that I have long loved. I'm excited and looking forward to seeing what's around the next corner. Let's hope it's a wonderful year for us all.

Thank you one and all for your support. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New year,

Because Writing Isn't My Whole Life

For the past three years writing has practically consumed me. I don't think that's a bad thing, but my other hobbies have went to side. Quilting is one of them.

I started quilting over ten years ago. I started out with simple block quilts done by machine and then moved to more complex patterns like the pinwheel shown in the first picture. I then returned back  to sewing a crazy quit by hand. After that I stopped altogether.

Quilting is something I enjoy. It de-stresses me when I work with the fabric. Like writing, it also makes me feel productive. Being away from the computer is also a bonus.

It may sound crazy, but I love fabric. It's thrilling when I find a great piece of vintage fabric that I know can be recycled into something new. Thrift shops are great places to hunt for quilt fabric.

Gardening is another love of mine. Before moving into the city, I had a huge garden. At this time I have nothing since it doesn't work where I live. I hope to return to it at some point in the future.

My question is: What hobbies do you enjoy?

On Diabetes and Life

Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with diabetes. It didn't surprise me when it was confirmed by my doctor, but the knowing left me bitter and depressed. I kind of knew that it was a possibility. I've been ill off and on over the past two years, but this seemed to come and go. I had myself convinced that it was nothing, but the what if was always there in the back of my mind.

I'd become very ill over the past couple of months. More so in fact than ever before. I had frequent headaches and dizziness. I was always thirsty, and going to the bathroom. I was often nauseated. My eyes hurt at times. Even after 8 hours sleep, I was still tired, and sleeping most days. I found whenever I felt fatigued all I needed was something with a lot of sugar in it(Regular soda), and I would come around and feel much better. When I was tested for diabetes, my fasting sugar was high. When I was spot checked in the doctor's office, it was dangerously high!

I'm on medication so far. I don't want to go on insulin. I'm following a strict diet with a restricted carb intake, and it's been hell. Going from eating whatever you want to watching everything isn't easy. But I take full responsibility for my condition, and I know that no one else got me there but myself. Hopefully the diet along with exercise and meds will work. My doctor is optimistic, and so am I.

If you've been feeling like I described above, get yourself checked. The damage that diabetes can do to the body over years untreated is astounding, and scary. It's better to know than not.

As part of the GLBT Madness Hop, I'm please to highlight one of my favourite m/m books by a very talented author, Kimberly Gardner.

Brought together for pleasure, bound together by love.

Jason doesn't do monogamy, and as a much sought-after Dom he doesn't have to. But when he gets the chance to play with Benny, his sweet young assistant who wants only to please him, Jason holds back.

Benny's no sub, but for a chance to be with the sexy Dom he's sure he can change. Except he's only fooling himself, and deep down he knows it.

Enter Rain, a sexy badboy who's got a taste for the lash and pretty young things, like Benny. What's a man to do when the two men he lusts after are determined that even a hook-up is not in the cards? Why, orchestrate one single night of pleasure, of course.

But when the whip comes down, and one night isn't enough, it's love, not leather, that's bound to

A Siren Erotic Romance

Story Excerpt!

“How did it go?” Amy asked when Eve got back to the shop. Amy had been with Eve for a year and worked on the counter out front, overseeing the shop and serving customers. She also took orders and booked appointments with potential clients.
“The bride was a nightmare, and the wedding planner…let’s not even go there. But it’s all done and over with now. What’s been happening since I’ve been gone? Is Jake around?”
“Jake’s gone out to deliver the last few orders that came in. The French vanilla cupcakes are selling like hotcakes.” Amy leaned back and grinned, pleased with her little joke. “And the shop’s been busy with customers dropping in. It’s been a good day for sales. You’re going to have to up the supply to meet the demand. We’re sold out of a couple of items.”
“Great.” Eve removed her coat. “How long has Jake been out for?” Jake was her delivery guy and jack-of-everything-else at Eve’s Temptations. He was easy on the eyes and a hard worker, both qualities she enjoyed immensely.
“He’s been gone almost an hour. He should be back soon,” Amy confirmed. “The roads are a little wet from the rain shower. I hope he makes it back all right. There are so many bad drivers out there, and you have to be so darned careful.”
Eve nodded and walked to the back of the shop to her office. The first thing she did after grabbing a cup of coffee was to sit and sift through her e-mails. There were invoices to be paid, along with inquiries from the shop’s website looking for estimates on various occasion cakes. Novelty cakes were big. She could easily make a cake in the shape of almost anything. Eve scanned the rest of her e-mails, and after seeing nothing much of importance, she closed out the computer screen and took a sip of her coffee, only to see Jake standing in the doorway to her office.
“Traffic’s killer out there,” Jake said, his hands shoved deep inside the pockets of his well-fitted pants. “And some idiot almost rear-ended me. I was at a red light, and the bastard wasn’t paying attention. I think he was texting or something.”
Eve stood from her desk. “You didn’t get hurt, did you?”
“I’m fine. I managed to avoid it with a quick turn of the steering wheel. I was a little shaken, but I’m fine.” Jake smiled, and his stark green eyes lit up. “Don’t worry your pretty self over it.”
“I wasn’t worried. I was concerned. There is a difference, and if the delivery van got damaged, or if you were injured, my insurance would have gone way up. The premiums are high enough as it is.” The last thing Eve needed to worry about was liability issues.
Jake knew he had it going on, and his flirting with Eve hadn’t gone unnoticed. He was open and blatant about it, even though she was the boss and he was the employee. Getting involved with an employee wasn’t good. However, he was so damned good to look at, from his lush, curly black hair that framed his chiselled face perfectly, right down to his muscular, toned body. Jake wasn’t a gym bunny, but everything about him was perfection personified and then some.
Jake placed his hand on his chest over his heart and pouted. “You don’t know how much it warms me to hear you say that. Seriously, don’t hold back or anything.”
Eve rolled her eyes and couldn’t help but smirk. “Did you look at what’s on the agenda for early this week?”
“It isn’t anything we can’t handle. Tuesdays are usually slow. That’s why you open later than the rest of the week.”
Jake was right. Tuesdays never yielded many delivery orders, for some reason, and most of the business of the day came from customers who took the time to come into the store to purchase what they needed. “I could use a slow day.” Eve couldn’t believe she said that. She’d worked so hard to make Eve’s Temptations a success. Hell, she’d fought tooth and nail just to get the financing from the bank, not to mention appealing to the small business loan center in town. That in itself was no easy feat. Along with both loans and a generous gift from her father, she was able to make her dream come true.
“We all need a break now and then.” Jake shifted awkwardly from side to side. “Which leads me to my next question, and I want you to actually think about it before you answer.”
“Which is?” Eve questioned. She couldn’t begin to think what was on his mind. He probably wanted a day off.
“Would you like to go out with me tonight?”

Adult Excerpt!

Under the dim glow of lit candles, Eve felt two sets of hands upon her. She closed her eyes as they undressed her, leaving her in her bra-and-panty set.
“Open your eyes,” Jake ordered, his voice commanding.
Eve did. She watched as Jake and Peter removed their shirts first and then their jeans. They really were a beautiful sight to behold standing next to each other.
“Bend over,” Jake said. “Bend over the edge of the bed.”
Eve took a deep breath, and when Peter guided her in place, his hands massaging her bare back, she shuddered as excitement ripped throughout her body like nothing she’d ever experienced before.
“She’s perfect, isn’t she?” Jake hooked his thumbs into the waistband of Eve’s panties, and in one swift movement, he yanked them down.
“And a great ass,” Peter added.
Eve turned and looked over her shoulder. Her knees trembled slightly when Jake knelt down and pulled out a black wooden box from under the bed. It was long and rectangular and opened easily. In his hand, Jake now held a small paddle. The idea of pleasure and pain mixed together was intriguing, but Eve wondered if she’d be able to handle it.
Jake stood at Eve’s right side with Peter on the left. First, Jake ran his free hand across her buttocks. Then he pressed the cool paddle against them one at a time. “This might sting a little at first,” he warned. His eyes were intense, and his chest heaved out slightly as he spoke.
“Only if it’s done well.” Peter climbed on the bed in front of Eve and started massaging her shoulders. “Relax and enjoy. You won’t be disappointed.”
It wasn’t bad at first. In fact, the first few light smacks amused Eve more than anything else. She felt extremely naughty, and she even wiggled her ass a little in response to Jake’s paddling, but as Jake progressed, the swats became harder. First it tingled a little, and then her cheeks started to sting and grow hot. Something unexplainable switched on inside of her, and her clit tingled every time the paddle made contact with her skin.
“Tell me when you want me to stop,” Jake said. “I want this to be pleasurable for you.”
It was. Eve writhed a little, and a small gasp escaped her lips. Peter held her up, and her head now rested against his firm torso.
“That’s enough for now,” Jake announced. “Too much can wear a person out.”
Eve imagined that this was a very true statement. She nodded and climbed on the bed after Jake patted her ass.
* * * *
Peter adored Jake and loved it whenever Jake took control in the bedroom when they got together for some fun. Eve had stepped into their world tonight, and things were about to get very interesting.
Eve looked a little wary. It was easy to see that she wasn’t completely comfortable with him and Jake. Peter caressed Eve’s hair, feeling its silkiness beneath his fingers. Her nipples reminded him of ripened cherries. They begged to be sucked and pinched. Peter knew what was coming next, and when Jake beckoned him to join him at the end of the bed, he did as he was told, his cock rubbing against Eve’s side as he scooted into position alongside Jake between her legs.
“Perfect,” Jake murmured. He spread Eve’s legs wide and leaned in to inhale her womanly scent. Both men settled between her legs and rested one foot on each of their shoulders.
Peter heard Eve say something, and he smiled when she reached down to touch her clit, only to have her hand quickly brushed away by Jake.
“No playing with yourself. That’s why we’re here. It’s all about you, Eve. Enjoy the ride!” Jake grinned and glanced over at Peter. “Lick her pussy.”
Peter ran his tongue across Eve’s slick folds. She had shaved. He liked that. She tasted sweet, yet there was slight saltiness, too. Her skin felt like velvet on his tongue, and when he sucked her engorged clit into his mouth, Eve bucked up slightly.
“Suck her clit,” Jake said. He moved in closer to Peter, and when Peter pulled away from Eve’s pussy, Jake kissed him.
Eve sat up a little, and Peter knew she was watching them. He turned away from Jake’s kiss and made eye contact with her. “You like?” he asked. Lots of women liked seeing two men together sexually. Peter knew this from experience. This wasn’t the first time he was involved in a ménage. Most of the guys he’d dated in the past were bisexual like Jake, though less dominant.
“I like everything so far,” Eve replied. There’d been a change in the tone in her voice. She sounded more complacent and less nervous. The spanking administered by Jake did its job after all.

Worth Waiting For Release Day!

Blurb: Twice in a lifetime?
Craig isn't one for having friends. In fact, he's content being a loner until he meets new guy, Jason one summer's day.

Jason is everything Craig isn't. Jason is handsome, athletic, and charismatic. But Jason also harbors a deep secret. Soon they form a fast friendship that changes into something much more.

After an impromptu trip to visit Jason's estranged gay brother, Craig reveals Jason's dark secret and Jason vows to never see Craig again before he sends him away.

Years pass and Craig moves on with his life. After a couple of bad relationships, he's done with dating and finding Mr. Right. But when an older and more mature Jason steps back into his life looking to hookup again, he can't help but wonder if there's still a spark waiting to be relit between them.

Excerpt: Jason turned over on his back and rested both hands behind his head. He looked breathtaking laying there with just the dim glow from the flashlight illuminating the interior of the cabin. I swallowed hard and looked away from him. I was making myself look so damned obvious. I was completely taken with him. He wasn’t like other guys. There was something about him that was much more sensitive and caring. It was his nature. It all came easy for him. I admired that about him.
“You’ve got nice eyes.” Jason stretched a little. “I noticed that the moment we met. I’m not hitting on you or anything, but you do. They’re a great shade of green.”
I wanted him to hit on me, desperately. “They’re nothing special.” I flopped back on my sleeping bag and stared at the roof of the cabin.
“Justice is gay. That’s why my dad hates him so much.”
“What?” I turned on my side to face Jason. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
“My brother’s gay. None of us ever suspected anything. All throughout high school he always had a girlfriend. He was super popular and on the football team. He left for college and wham! When he returned for Thanksgiving, he told us he was gay and had a boyfriend.”
“Your dad must have flipped.” I was picturing this whole scenario playing out. It must have been one hell of a shocker for all involved.
“Oh yeah! He kicked Justice out of the house right away and he hasn’t been allowed to come home since. Not that he’d want to. He hates my dad like I do.”
“Have you told Justice about how he hits you?” I had to ask.
“No. You’re the only one who knows about that besides mom. I don’t want anyone else to know.”
I sucked in a deep breath and exhaled. This was a lot to take in, but I was glad and heartened that Jason trusted me enough to be honest with me.
“I’ve chatted with Justice’s boyfriend. He’s a nice guy and it doesn’t bother me that my brother is gay. It makes no difference to me. I know he’s happy and that’s what matters. I’m glad he’s found someone to love and to love him.” Jason smiled. “Love is what life is made of. I hope to find it too.”
This was too much. I wanted to hug him. I wanted to kiss him and have him kiss me back. I wanted him to know that everything would be okay and that I was there for him in any way he wanted me to be. In a nutshell, in the matter of a couple of days I was totally in love!
“You will,” I said, reassuring him. “You deserve all that and more. You’ll find it.”
Jason chewed his bottom lip before he spoke. “I’m optimistic. There’s someone out there for everyone. That’s what I think.”
I didn’t entirely believe this, but I went along with Jason anyway. “Right.” I closed my eyes and tried to picture myself with a guy in a relationship. I wondered what it would be like to have an actual boyfriend to spend time with and to love. “I think it’s cool that your brother is so open about his sexuality.” I wished I was brave like Justice. I hated hiding.
“Justice is a great person all around and I’m not just saying that because we’re related. I’d like for you to meet him sometime. He only lives a couple towns over. You know Hansing?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s where he’s studying. He has a small apartment off campus with his boyfriend. We should go there.”
“Sounds great.” It would be the first time I’d meet others like myself. I wondered if they would know just by looking at me. It was something to ponder.
“I’d have to think up a good excuse to keep it hidden from my dad. I’ll come up with something. I have money saved and we could take the bus. We’ll do it before we go back to school. It’d be cool seeing Justice again.”
Soon, Jason was snoring softly and I was left with my thoughts. I listened to the bugs outside and in the near distance the water from the river soothed me as I slowly began to relax. I was on information overload and tonight seemed surreal. Jason had revealed so much of himself to me. I flicked off the flashlight and stared at him through the darkness that was slightly tinted with light from the moon. As my eyes adjusted, I could see him more clearly. I couldn’t resist the temptation to touch him, so I did. I touched his lips with my index finger and then his cheek. He mumbled something in his sleep and I pulled away quickly.

Notorious Nephilim Series by Carolyn Rosewood

The twelve heroes of the Notorious Nephilim series were part of a larger group of Nephilim sent to earth during the Prohibition era to persuade humans to find more peaceful ways of opposing booze, but our heroes were having too much fun getting drunk and seducing women. They found they especially enjoyed ménage – two of them with one woman.

As punishment for ignoring their mission, they were cast down to earth for the remainder of eternity. As a constant reminder of their sins, no human woman would love only one of them. Instead she’d fall in love with two of them. Because of bigamy laws they could never marry her, but they’d have to share her, and she had to agree to this arrangement. This was the only way they could become mortal and have a chance to earn redemption. If she didn’t choose to stay with them under this arrangement, they’d remain Nephilim and be free to indulge in their vices without any satisfaction.

In retaliation for their harsh punishment, the twelve started Lilith’s Playground, an exclusive resort in Fox Lake Illinois. It soon gained a reputation as catering to its guests’ every desire. But one by one they grew bored and longed for more than temporary flings.

Book One – Spanked By An Angel – takes place in contemporary times. Abigail, the heroine of SBAA, is a guest at the resort. When she falls for two of the owners – Zach and Emmett – she gets more than she bargained for. But will her past catch up with her before she can find true love in their arms? This book is available at Siren-Bookstrand and other distributors.

Book Two – Seducing The Chambermaid – goes back to the beginnings of the resort when mob bosses ruled Chicago and speakeasies were all the rage. This book takes place in 1936 and tells the story of the first two Nephilim to choose a mortal life – Leo and Andras. When newly hired chambermaid Blair is caught stealing jewelry from a guest, Leo and Andras make her pay off the debt in their beds. But Blair has a secret that might ruin their business and get her killed. This book will be released by Siren-Bookstrand on August 14 2012.

Book Three – Tempted By Two Angels – takes place in 1943. Caleigh has been hired to sing in the nightclub at Lilith’s Playground and seduces two of the owners, Hugh and Sterling. But Caleigh is used to running through men like water. Can she give her heart away to two men? This book is scheduled for release by Siren-Bookstrand on September 19 2012.

Book Four – Her Wanton Ways – takes place in 1952. Joelle has broken off her engagement to a social climbing politician from Chicago. While on a wild vacation at the resort, she falls for two of the owners – Blade and Cristian. But what happens when her ex-fiancé comes looking for her, and decides to target the resort to make a name for himself?

Book Five – Private Lessons – returns to contemporary times. Paige takes music lessons from two owners, Reeve and Niko, but gets instruction in more than chords and composition.

Book Six – Dangerous Desires – also takes place in contemporary times. Sofia is running from a crooked cop and answers an ad for a cocktail waitress at the resort, thinking it’s the perfect place to hide out. Demetrius and Gregory – the last two owners to remain Nephilim – will either save the resort at this woman’s hands, or ruin it when her ex catches up with her.

Free Read(MM)

My free read from Evernight Publishing is out today. It's also available on All Romance and Bookstrand.

Blurb: Kansas, 1933
Calvin is going through a crisis in his life. After facing a potential scandal at college, he returns back to the family farm only to find himself the subject of gossip and rumors. His one solace is his father's farmhand, Josh who he's lusted after since the man's arrival.
When chance presents itself, the two men come together for one afternoon of passionate pleasure and they discover they have more in common than they'd initially thought. But are their feelings for each other just a whimsy or is it something much more?

Excerpt:
The creek was still high, much higher than Calvin expected given the weather that had dropped upon the county during this month.

Josh stood at the edge of the creek and stepped out of his jeans. Calvin nearly dropped seeing Josh’s butt. He averted his eyes and tried to pretend it was no big deal seeing this man naked in front of him, but already his cock stirred even though he fought to keep that from happening.

Josh glanced at Calvin. “Are you going to just stand there or are you going to join me?” Josh had waded out into the creek and was stretching his muscled arms high over his head. “The water’s great. Come on in.”

Calvin nodded. It wasn’t like he hadn’t been naked in front of another man before. Heck, he’d had relations with one … many times.

Calvin shifted out of his shirt and dropped it on the ground. He hesitated nervously as he undid his pants. He then sucked in a deep breath and stepped out of them. He made haste to the edge of the creek and slipped into the cool water until he was waist deep.

****

For far too long Josh had wanted to be with Calvin alone like this. His boss’s cute son hadn’t gone unnoticed and many times he’d stolen glances at him when in each other’s company on the farm.

When Calvin returned home from school, he couldn’t help but feel glad about it.

“See, the water’s perfect.” Josh moved through the water and felt its coolness wash away the dryness and dirt from the farm. “This is great. When you get right down into it, it’s much better.” He swam to where Calvin was and with one big sweep of his hand, splashed him.

“Don’t do that,” Calvin said, half laughing.

“Stop me,” Josh dared, doing it again.

“Is that a dare?” Calvin moved deeper into the creek.

“Maybe,” Josh toyed, backing away. He turned slightly. “Catch me if you can.”

New Cover Art

In the past week I've been lucky enough to get two covers sent to me for upcoming works. I adore cover art and they both had me jumping with joy!

Worth Waiting For is a story that I tried to place with a couple of publishers, but it was a no go due to some of the content. I made the decision to self-publish it because I didn't want the story to not be out there. I loved writing this one and I hope my readers will too!

The cover artist is Fantasia Frog Designs. If you're ever in need of a great cover designer, look her up and tell her I sent you: http://fantasiafrogdesigns.wordpress.com/

A Little Piece Of Heaven is a freebie coming soon from Evernight Publishing. The cover is perfect for the story and I am so pleased with it.

The cover artist is Sour Cherry Designs and you can look them up on Facebook to see more of their great designs.

Stay tuned for release dates!

Apples to Oranges Contest

To celebrate the release of Apples to Oranges, I'm giving away a copy to one commenter. Leave a comment along with your email address for a chance to win. I'll run the contest for one week.

A description and excerpt can be read on Evernight's page.

My Thoughts About What I Write

I cruise Goodreads like a lot of other authors do. At times since I've joined the site it has annoyed the hell out of me, but for the most part I do enjoy it thought I don't go on their every single day.

I'm going to talk a bit about reviews. Today I got two for my latest m/m. One was from a review site and it was positive while the other was from a reader and negative but constructive. Like any other author, I love getting positive reviews. I'd be crazy if I didn't, but it was the negative review that made me think about what I write in general and why I write it.

Since I've started writing I've had a couple of readers contact me via Facebook PM and through my author email. One questioned me about my less than noble characters and why I write them. A couple of reviews have again brought this issue up. My characters often have sex with other people outside of their relationships. In Menage on the Prairie, the hero had the heroine come to him by missleading her. In Apples to Oranges, Jace fools around with another guy, but is interested in another and doesn't tell him even after they get together. This is a big no for some readers and to top things off, most of my endings are HFN(Happy for now).

I understand that romance/erotic romance readers want an escape. Most want the happily ever after. It's rare for me to write that. I write what I like to read. I love m/m and I read a ton of it. I like quirkier stories with characters who are leave me thinking and if they don't run off into the sunset with each other that's okay with me. I also draw from my own real life experience. I am not a gay man of course and I've never been in a menage relationship, but I have been cheated on and found myself in some pretty strange situations over the years. I think this often rolls over into my writing. Saying that, I have found the man of my dreams and married him(Yay!).

I hope this offers a little insight to my readers who have had questions about what I write or for those who have had a WTF moment when they've finished something of mine.

Interview with K. Williams

XD- I'm always interested in the path a writer takes to becoming an author. Tell us about yours.

K- I've been writing for a long time, ever since I was a child. I was never very confident in my work and though being an author was a dream of mine, I never tried for it. My husband was the one that demanded I at least try to get something published. So, I did, and I'd say so far it's going pretty well.

XD- What inspired you to write Hero?

K- Well, I was listening to one of my favorite bands, Rise Against. The song Hero of War came on. It's a very emotional, raw song that deals with the painful realities of war. It put a scene in my head and I wrote the whole thing around that one scene.

XD- What advice would you give to budding authors?

K- I honestly have no idea. I'm still a budding author. I guess, I would say, just do what you love to do and don't get caught up in things that don't really matter.

XD- What's the one thing you can't live without?

K- I'd have to say a laptop with Internet access. Because with it, I can still write and stay in contact with friends and family, which are very high on my list of priorities.

XD- Cats or dogs?

K- Oh, that's tough because I have both. I'm gonna have to say cats though. Because my dog thinks he's a cat.

XD- What's next on your writing agenda and where do you envision yourself in a year?

K- Next on the agenda is a M/M werewolf story I just started working on. In a year, well hopefully I'll be closer to done with my degree in social work. I'd like to have a few more books out. Hopefully the husband and I (if he's not deployed) will be in a spot where we can start talking about starting a family.

XD- Sounds great and I wish you luck with all your endeavours. I'd also like to thank you for taking the time to be interviewed. It was a pleasure.

K. Williams can be reached online at: http://khwkitten2010.blogspot.ca/ and her newest release, Hero is also available on Amazon, Bookstrand, and All Romance.

Product Description

When bad boy, Brandon, moves to eighteen year old Jace's small-town, Jace’s life is suddenly turned upside down.

During the last year, Jace has experienced a lot of loss. His dad's untimely death in Afghanistan and his mom's subsequent nervous breakdown have left a lasting impact on him, and meeting Brandon gives him hope for the future. Jace is ready to make big changes in his otherwise mundane life. He's at a pinnacle and can’t help but think what it would be like to come out.

Brandon's life has been nothing but chaos from day one. That is until he meets straight-laced Jace. Jace stirs feelings within him that are new and exciting. And after a hot unexpected night together, he’s left with questions that desperately need answering.

As their feelings grow for each another, they come to a bridge that must be crossed. Is their love enough to keep them together or will their differences tear them apart?

Excerpt:
Brandon was right about the weather. In less than an hour it was pissing down rain. Mike and a few others, including Brandon, had taken to the van.
By nine, Jace had the flashlight out and was reading a book he’d brought along, hoping it would pass time while the others drank themselves into a stupor. Mike had asked if he wanted to join them, but he declined. This wasn’t his idea of fun, especially with…girls all around him. If anything, he’d feel like the odd one out. No thanks.
Jace jumped when he heard a door slam. Then he heard footsteps walking in his direction. When the zipper opened to the tent, he saw that it was Brandon. From the way he flopped on his sleeping bag, Brandon was dead drunk.
“Fuck, it’s cold and wet out there,” Brandon said. He turned on his side, facing Jace. “You should have joined us in the van.”
“I’m okay here. I have my book.” Jace held it up and suddenly felt lame.
“One of the girls was asking about you. She was wondering where you were. I think she was interested in getting together with you.” Brandon grinned widely. “Like I said, you should have joined us. You might have gotten lucky with her.”
Just what Jace wanted. “Thanks, but I’ll pass on that.”
“Not interested?” Brandon questioned.
“Correct.” Jace went back to the pages of his book.
“In her, or do you mean girls, period?” Brandon’s face was serious, but his eyes were full of mischief as he connected with Jace through the dim lighting.
Jace’s pulse sped up and even though there was a chill in the air, he felt warm, extremely warm. He swallowed hard and his mouth felt like cotton. “What do you mean by that?”
****
God, he was buzzed. Otherwise, he would never have had the nerve to be this open and bold. Brandon thought about what to say next, choosing his words carefully. His eyes traced Jace’s expression, trying to read him. “Maybe you’re not into girls.” It was a comment and not a question.
“I…” Jace stammered, his eyes looking from Brandon to the book he held. “I can’t believe you’re asking me this.”
“There’s nothing wrong with being gay or whatever.” Even though his hazy judgement, Brandon wondered how come he did think this way when it came to his own ambiguous sexuality. At this moment, he was erect inside his jeans. That alone told him much more than anything else about how he’d felt.
“I know there isn’t anything wrong with it,” Jace replied. “What makes you think I’m gay?”
“Well,” Brandon lowered his voice. “Call it a vibe. It’s hard to explain. I did notice you looking at me in class at school.” It was all coming out now.
“I wasn’t looking at you,” Jace protested. “Besides, how would you notice me looking at you unless you were also looking at me?”
Brandon laughed. Jace was too cute for words. With his hair slightly dishevelled and his eyes looking so intense…he’d never noticed how green they were before now. “So.” Brandon inhaled deeply and his heard beat hard inside his chest. “What would you say if I asked if I could kiss you?” And before Jace had a chance to reply, Brandon leaned in and did it.
****
Jace almost came right then and there when their lips connected for the first time. He didn’t pull away, but the sheer surprise of the moment did cause him to flinch a little.
“You taste sweet,” Brandon said, his voice husky. “Tell me you liked me kissing you and tell me you want me to do it again.” Brandon ran one finger down Jace’s forearm as he spoke. “So soft.”
Jace did want it to happen again. “It’s gum and yes, please.”
Brandon smelled vaguely of cigarette smoke and he tasted like beer and cherry lip balm. His tongue slipped inside Jace’s mouth for the second time. Jace fell back on his sleeping bag and moaned as Brandon crawled on top of him, one leg pushing both of his slightly apart. Jace felt Brandon grinding against him, his hard-on pressing and throbbing inside his jeans.
“You can touch me if you want,” Brandon said. “It’s okay.”
Jace pressed his hands against Brandon’s firm chest and reaching down, he pulled up on the hem of his t-shirt.
